Certification programme
Nutrient Management Adviser Certification Programme
The Nutrient Management Adviser Certification Programme (NMACP) is an industry-wide certification programme targeted at those who provide nutrient management advice to New Zealand farmers.
NMACP aims to ensure farmers receive nutrient management advice of the highest standard. Relevant qualifications and experience are essential. Once certified, advisers need to undertake continuing professional development each year.
The Programme has been running since 2013 and is funded by the Fertiliser Association of New Zealand and DairyNZ. The Management Board is represented by DairyNZ, the Fertiliser Association of New Zealand, Beef + Lamb New Zealand and AgFirst.
The Standard Setting Group includes technical representatives from the Foundation for Arable Research, Lincoln and Massey Universities, Canterbury and Waikato Regional Councils, Ballance Agri-Nutrients, Ravensdown and AgFirst.
Administrative support is provided by the Fertiliser Association of New Zealand.
Greenhouse Gas Rural Professional Certification
NMACP has introduced a certification endorsement for greenhouse gases. This will be available to Certified Nutrient Management Advisers who complete Massey University's three-day course 'An introduction to New Zealand's Agricultural Green House Gas Emissions and Management'. Course content includes the latest in greenhouse gas mitigation policy and research for pastoral and arable farming.
The endorsement was established with financial support from DairyNZ.
